ARE YOU READY?
Although the official launch date has not yet been decided, I am working on getting it settled ASAP! In the meantime, I would love for everyone to slowly get familiar with my story!
I have a short interview alongside my very own, very cute concept art that I think everyone will really enjoy!
Everyone, please stay tuned for updates!
SOILVEIL is a story built on fantasy, magic, beauty, and mystery. In the land of Thalemor, on the farmland outskirts near the quaint town of Hearthglen, rests the Soilveil Estate. Fine and historic, the estate has unimaginable hidden secrets.
Upon inheriting the estate, Himawari sets out to uncover the truth behind the strange happenings around the farm after the death of his grandparents. He soon discovers that magic is made real as flowers come to life. As he gains new friends, grows new flowers, and finds his place, the once nearly-neglected manor returns to a state of splendor, bustling with life, beauty, and lots and loooots of very pretty flower boys!

Ahead of the release of the story, please enjoy the following interview with the author
Q: Without spoilers, can you describe the world of SOILVEIL in three words?
A: Enchanting, endearing, alluring!!
Q: Soilveil has so many diverse characters with nice design elements. How do you build characters? Do you plan the story ahead of time and then build them around it?
A: Actually, I design the character first, then decide how they will fit into the story. I try to pick out flowers with attractive features and meanings. From there, I can better decide on their personalities and outfits. I usually try to decide on their personalities as I design them to make sure that their aura is easy to translate through how I make them look!

Q: What was the initial seed of inspiration for SOILVEIL? How did the story become what it is?
A: The idea has existed for many years. My best friend and I both adore flowers, and we would often give each other our favorites whenever we visit (since guys don’t really pay attention to these things often). She loves roses, and I love sunflowers. We eventually decided we should have flower boyfriends and started doodling what they might look like, or how they would dress. I thought if Touken Ranbu can have sword boys, then flower boys weren’t too weird of a concept.

We talked about them so much, I started to daydream about little stories through my days at work. Once I thought of two boys, I started to think of more, and more, and more. Lily of the valley, tiger lily, hollyhock, morning glory, Mexican petunia, windflower!
In my head, for years, I fleshed out a whole series! I wanted to make a game, so the key points were different at the time, but I was deeply detailed and even thought of main game mechanics. I don’t know about game production, so I eventually changed to just thinking of a main story that I could write. But…I never wrote it.
The story has been dancing around in my head for about a decade, and it wasn’t somewhere in mid-2025 that I went back to their old simple character designs and decided to update them. I wanted to give them more attractive features and refine a cohesive style for them.

I’ve been working on being more active on social media lately, and after I had posted the updated designs, my friends went wild! I had never shared my characters fully before and never discussed the full idea for the story with anyone, not even my best friend. All of a sudden, I had so many people asking about my characters.

One particular friend pushed me to write! She had a genuine interest in them and wanted to know about my story. Once she heard about it, things kind of blew up! She encouraged me wholeheartedly, and from her influence, I finally sat down and started to write. Without her, the story wouldn’t exist outside of the cobwebs in my mind. She has become a necessity in the process now that she has become the key to making my story become a reality!
Q: What’s a piece of worldbuilding you’re really proud of that might not be obvious to readers?
A: I think the setting is my ideal world. There are negative consequences and circumstances, but those things are minuscule in relation to the strength of the love depicted. From that love, there are endless possibilities. To be unconditionally loved, in various ways, is such a rarity in our reality, so I wanted to create a world where readers can be reminded not to settle for a halfway love. Rather than focusing on romantic love (though there is much to come) I wanted to start the story by depicting support beyond blood relations or romantic partners. Love comes from many places, and I hope that I can clearly show how fully loving those around you can create beauty and magic.
I also wanted to show something beautiful, but outside of a romantic gaze. Beauty for the sake of beauty. I think this ideal has been lost in a lot of aspects of modern life, so I felt it was important to spend time detailing the various aspects of (little things) that I find to be beautiful. Kissing a flower, watching someone you love laugh, hearing “home” noises in the morning. Sitting in a freshwater stream. They are all mundane, but there is a quality within these moments that is worth capturing. I hope readers can feel what I feel when I picture these things while I write!

“I wanted to create a world where readers can be reminded not to settle for a halfway love.” WORDS TO LIVE BY!!! This statement is so beautiful I’m actually tearing up! I’m so excited to read!
